    Mr. Brown is a state certified appraiser who has appraised full time since 1971. Prior to establishing James Brown and Associates, Inc., he was the Western Real Estate Appraisal Manager for Marshall and Stevens, Inc., a national appraisal company. He has appraised most property types and has completed appraisals for a wide variety of uses, including financing, accounting, and litigation. His education includes a B.A. degree from San Jose State University, post graduate study in real estate, and numerous professional appraisal courses. He is currently certified by the Appraisal Institute. He controls all appraisals produced by the office with his signature.

Aaron J. Brown AARON J. BROWN, MAI: (aaron@jbappraiser.com)
    Aaron J. Brown, MAI is an Oregon, California, Colorado, Idaho, and Washington state licensed appraiser. He is also the resident computer expert. His duties include maintaining the web page (which is always under construction), handling computer errors (forcing the users to restart their computer and lose all their work), and troubleshooting the network (making sure everything is plugged in right). Aaron Brown has worked on appraisals in across the United States. Property types include continuum care retirement centers, independent living facilities, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and motels. Aaron graduated with degrees in Economics and History from Willamette University in 1993 and with a degree in Computer Engineering from Portland State University in 1999. He has been working for James Brown and Associates since 1999. Aaron obtained his MAI certification by the Appraisal Institute in 2004.

HERROD (MICKY) ABBOTT: (herrod@jbappraiser.com)
    Herrod (Micky) Abbott is a State Certified General Real Estate Appraiser in Oregon and Washington. He began appraising real estate in 1978. Prior to working with James Brown & Associates, Inc., he worked for Marion County for over 7 years as a commercial appraiser. There, he qualified as an expert witness for the State of Oregon's department of revenue. He has worked for Mr. Brown for over 15 years, assisting in over 400 appraisals throughout numerous states.
    Mr. Abbot is a graduate of the University of the Rogue Community College in Grants Pass, Oregon with an associates degree in Real Estate.

Ian Ivey IAN IVEY: (ian@jbappraiser.com)
    Ian Ivey is a 2004 graduate from the University of Oregon. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Multi-Media Design. He joined James Brown and Associates shortly after graduation and currently holds a General Certified General Real Estate Appraisal License for the states of Oregon, Washington and Arizona. Mr. Ivey has also performed appraisals in numerous other states nationwide. His primary appraisal experiance is for elderly care facilities, including Continuum of Care Retirement Communities (CCRC), age resitricted senior apartments, congregate care independent living retirement properties, assisted living/residential care, specialized Alzheimer's/Dementia care, skilled nursing and behavioral healthcare facilities. He also has experiance in appraisal valuation of hotel/motel properties. In addition to providing appraisal services he has performed elderly care market supply versus demand feasibility studies.

    Dan Wilch is a State Certified General Real Estate Appraiser in Oregon. Dan graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business and Economics from Western Oregon University in 2002. He joined James Brown and Associates in 2005 after working in the insurance industry as a total loss claims adjuster. He has completed appraisals in numerous states. Jordan LeeJORDAN LEE: (jlee@jbappraiser.com)
    Jordan R. Lee is a General Certified Real Estate Appraiser and is currently licensed in Oregon and Washington. Mr. Lee graduated from Willamette University in 2004 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and a minor in History. Prior to joining James Brown & Associates, Inc. he worked for five years as a commercial appraiser for Powell Valuation Inc. Mr. Lee has performed appraisals in numerous states, including Oregon, Washington, California, Nevada, Michigan, Maryland, Missouri and Idaho. Assignments included commercial retail, medical and professional office, industrial, hotel/motels, gas stations, shopping centers, residential subdivisions, multi-family and special purpose properties. More recently, Mr. Lee has specialized in elderly care facilities, including continuum of care retirement communities, independent living, assisted living, Alzheimer's/Dementia care and skilled nursing. In addition to appraising for mortgage lending, he has provided consulting services for litigation and estate planning. Mr. Lee has volunteered with the local chapter of the Appraisal Institute and was the Oregon representative to the national association's Leadership Development and Advisory Council in Washington, D.C.

    Scott Jarmer is a 1996 graduate of Oregon State University. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with emphasis in Accounting. Mr. Jarmer has currently completed 240 hours of Appraisal Institute courses and is a Registered Appraiser Assistant in Oregon. His experience includes Senior Industrial Property Appraiser (Appraisal Analyst III) with Oregon Department of Revenue. In addition, he has a wide experience in small business management, network administration, telecommunication sales, and financial accounting. He has assisted with appraisals in numerous states. Property types include independent living facilities, assisted living facilities, and nursing homes.

    Randy Tucker is an Oregon State Certified Appraiser Assistant. He retired from the United States Marine Corps in 1997. He has attended college at the Eastern Carolina University and the University of North Florida and has over 5,000 documented contact hours of formal technical and administrative education plus experience in environmental, construction and healthcare related fields. He came to James Brown and Associates after serving as a Lincare Center Manager (a durable medical equipment services company) in 2007. In addition to our company?s primary focus of elderly care facilities, Randy has experience appraising convenience stores and gas stations.
